The Plastic Surgery originated in India in the Vedaic period approximately 3500 A.C. This is documented totally in the Sushruta Samhita, a complete treaty in the principles and art of the surgery of Ayurvedic.  Is interesting to find mention of several procedures of plastic surgery as othoplasty, rhinoplasty, and some procedures as organs transplant,  embryos transfer and others, according to the histories of Puranic and the Literature of Jain. The plastic surgery is as old as surgery and it has been practiced widely throughout the world in Asia, Egypt and Europe during centuries.

Modern Plastic Surgery begins after the conclusion of the second world war. World War I was considered the point departure of the greatest developments in plastic surgery. Before the doctors had never had the necessity to deal with face, head and members injuries of such magnitude. Destroyed jaws, opened  skull wounds caused by modern arms, required innovating procedures. The medical talent of Europe and America was devoted to recover the bodies and lives of soldiers and citizens hurt in the fire crossing.

Also aesthetic surgical procedures were developed during this period. The doctors got to understand “how much valuable talent was hidden from the human eyes, lost in the world and the society because of the pain generated by some physical disease or deformity,” this according to Amrican Plastic Surgeon John Orlando Roe.

GOALS OF THE PLASTIC SURGERY
The plastic surgery looks for the restoration of the deformed parts. Reconstructive Surgery and Aesthetic or Cosmetic Surgery are the basic component of plastic surgery. In the renconstructive surgery the plastic surgeon mainly is interested in recovering the function and aspect of birth defect or after an injury. The cosmetic or aesthetic surgery is directed to improve the aspect of a normal part of the body.
